Cisco Marine Services provides engineering, installation and commissioning support for Alternative Maritime Power (AMP) systems, enabling vessels to receive electrical power from shore while alongside. Shore power reduces the need to operate onboard diesel generators during port stays, helping lower local emissions, noise and vibration.

Our scope begins with onboard surveys and technical assessments covering the vessel’s electrical capacity, available space, cable routing and connection arrangements. We prepare system designs, integration drawings and technical documentation for submission to the relevant classification society for approval.

Working with equipment manufacturers, we undertake the installation of shore connection panels, transformers, switchgear, cable management systems and associated control and safety equipment, as required by the selected solution. Our installation scope includes steel foundations, equipment supports, cable pulling, terminations and modifications to existing electrical distribution systems.

We integrate shore power controls with the vessel’s power management and automation systems, including interlocks, protection functions and power transfer arrangements. Commissioning includes electrical checks, functional testing and verification of the agreed operating sequence, with manufacturer and class attendance coordinated as required.

From engineering through final handover, we provide coordinated project delivery, supported by riding teams and onboard supervision worldwide.
